New Year 2012

Less than 12 hours year 2012 is coming, and I did not feel the year 2011 is ending. Busy with work, and this year did not manage to get any break for myself. And this is the last post of this year 2011, everyday from Muara, Brunei Darussalam, to Labuan, Malaysia on morning, and back to Muara, evening. And another year Christmas on onboard the ship, busy with vehicles and passengers.

So, for the year 2012, I need to work smart and play hard. And get more break and exercise for myself because for year 2011, I think my body get fatigue very fast, and did not manage get any single full marathon.

Work, work, work

A month with busy work, and with school break coming soon for both countries Malaysia, and Brunei. Life became more and more busier than normal. The Shuttle Hope just finish the annual survey from the Lloyd's Register classification societies class. And all the hard work put on the ship pay well with succes on the annual survey.

But life just getting better and busy with upcoming school break in Malaysia, and Brunei. And this will increase the numbers of the load the ship and making all the hard work well pay. And I just realize that this year do not manage to get any break from my work. Maybe next year, I should take long break to relax my mind and body... Cross my finger on that...

Labuan

It's have been one month from my last post. Very busy with my works. Now looking at Victoria town, Labuan from the ship, the Waterfront Marine hotel and marina, Labuan port, and etc. The sky is blue with light white cloud around. All looks so placeful today. Wait for berthing at the Labuan Ro-Ro ramp jetty around 3:00 pm at the afternoon. Feel bored, working on my iPad, and try to post something before the month of October ended.

Work in Brunei

It been a long time since the last update. Busy with the work at Brunei. A new ferry services between the Brunei, Muara, Serasa Ferry Terminal and Malaysia, Sabah, Menumbok Ferry Terminal. The journey take two and half hours and it departure from Serasa Ferry Terminal, Muara, Brunei at 9:30am and departure from Menumbok Ferry Terminal, Sabah, Malaysia at 3:00pm. This new ferry service make the journey from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah to be short and easy.

In Brunei

Came to Brunei Darussalam on 13th December 2009 to work. Setting up the ferry service between the Serasa Ferry Terminal, Muara, Brunei to Menumbok Ferry Terminal, Menumbok, Sabah. The actual of the operation starting date have not yet been announced. All my running activity was put on hold until the project start to operate.

Back In Miri, Sarawak

I'm back in Miri after my short trip to Singapore last weekend and Brunei. Now back in office and working. First time fly from Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei to Singapore on Friday 8th May 2009 and came back to Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei from Singapore on Sunday 10th May 2009. A wonderful and tiring trip. Not much changing at Singapore since my last year december trip. Will be going to Singapore again end of this year for the Singapore Standard Chartered Marathon 2009.

Away from Miri for 4 days

I'll be away to Brunei Darussalam and Singapore this weekend and came back to Miri on Monday. Look like I will miss the 2009 Miri Jazz Festival on 8th and 9th May 2009.

In Brunei Darussalam for Work

Now I'm in the Palm Garden Hotel at Kiulap, Bandar Seri Bagawan, Brunei Darussalam. Staying one night at this hotel and tomorrow back to Miri, Sarawak. So, not running for today and tomorrow and this will make my running goal a bit behind of the schedule. But the nevertheless, I'll make it up with extra running next week.

Dell Precision M4300

Yesterday evening, my office get new Dell Precision M4300 laptop for me to used. First time I'm using the Window Vista Business. Feel a bit different old version of window. And some of old program that I have can not been installed under Window Vista, a bit disappointed. Coming back to the laptop, its is a high performance laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.5 GHz, 200 GB hard disk, 4.0 GB of RAM, and other stuff.

Offshore at Champion 7, Brunei

Last week wednesday 9th July until sunday 13th July I went Champion 7, Brunei Oil and Gas installation platform. We stay one night at Hotel Swift, Kuala Belait and early morning departure to the Anduki Helicopter base to take helicopter to the platform. Arrive at the platform, we check-in procedure and starting work. We stay for 4 day and 3 night at the installation to finish our work. And leaving the installation on the sunday morning.

Work trip to Singapore

I went to Johor Bahru on 19th May 2008, direct flight from Miri to Johor Bahru using AirAsia. I stay one night at Mutiara Hotel at Johor Bahru and the next monday, I went down to singapore. It been almost 3 years last time I been in Singapore. And I stay one night in Singapore. Very tired work trip, finish work at 9:00 pm and have dinner at chicken rice store. And straight to hotel, take a shower and went to bed. The next morning, wake up prepare to leave Singapore and straight to airport for my direct flight to Miri. The flight delay 15 minutes and arrive home around 4:00 pm. 

First time using helicopter

The Helicopter I used

Yesterday, I need to went to Champion 7 oil field in Seria, Brunei on early morning. So, on Monday night I went to Seria and stay one night there. Wake up at 5:45am morning, take shower and went out for breakfast at Seria. Then I drive up to Brunei Shell Petroleum Heli base at Anduki. Check in our stuff and luggage at the Heli check-in point.

So, we flight from Heli base to Champion 7 oil field at 8:00am and arrive there 25 minutes later. Do the check-in procedure at the Champion 7 oil field and safety briefing because it our first time here. Get the work permit done and continue with our work until finish.

Take break for lunch at 12:00pm and continue to work until finish. We leaving the field around 5:00pm. First time using the helicopter and feel like using normal plane just a bit lower to ground.

Another day work at AMPA 9

On Friday 7th March 2008, I need to go Kuala Belait, Brunei and went to AMPA 9 oil & gas installation to do pipe inspection. So I leaving from Miri at 6:00am that morning and arrive the Sungai Tujuh immigration check point at 6:20am. And the queue already a bit long. But that is one van in front of us that have around 11 passengers I think. So we think it will not take long time cause the van is Brunei vehicle, but sadly the passengers in the van is all Indonesian, so we wait for 15 minutes already. But still not yet finish, so we take short cut cause we afraid the boat leaving soon. Luckly the officer do not stop us.

We departure from the Kuala Belait Brunei Shell Petroleum check point at 8:00am using crewboat and arrive at AMPA 9 on 8:45am. Then we need to check in at the administration office at AMPA 9 and apply for the work permit. Meanwhile waiting for the work permit done, we went for breakfast at 9:00am and we start our work on 10:00am. Then we stop for the lunch and continue on with our work until 3:00pm for teabreak.

We stop work at 5:00pm cause we leaving the installation on the 5:45pm crewboat, so we need to clear work area. Finally, we leaving the platform on 6:00pm, late 15 minutes from the schedule...

Work Permit

This morning, I went to go Kuala Belait to get my work permit done. So, we leaving at 9:30am and arrive at the Kuala Belait around 10:45am. So we went to our counterpart company to pass my passport to them and them will bring to Immigration Department to get it done. I thought it will take a short time to do it. So we went for lunch at Kuala Belait town.

Then, when we went back to the company, I been tell that it will take a long time to do it and we need to wait until 3:00pm. So we went to Kuala Belait town again have some coffee. It been tired day again... and finish I get my work permit done.

Go to Brunei to do my Work Permit

Yesterday morning, me and my colleagues went to Brunei to our work permit at Brunei. And there are miscommunication between the Brunei agencies and us. We been ask to wait at Bandar, so by our understanding, we went to Bandar Seri Begawan. But what he mean is the Bandar Kuala Belait. So we wait at Bandar until 2:00pm. And the appointment with Immigration department is on 2:30 pm at Kuala Belait. So how....

So, the head of the Brunei agencies call again and they are expecting us at Kuala Belait. So, we rush went down to Kuala Belait and it take us 1 hour to arrive there. And sadly the Immigration department head not in the office, so we need to came back on Monday to get our us work permit done..

What tired day....

Meeting Brunei Minister

Today I'll be attend meeting at Ministry of Communication at Brunei Darussalam. So, we departure from Miri at 10:45am and arrive at Bandar Seri Begawan 11:45am, Brunei. Meet with our counterpart from Labuan. Then we have lunch at restaurant near to Airport and i have nasi baryani.

Our meeting with minister start at 2:00pm and finish at 3:00pm. After the meeting, we went back to Miri. On way back to Miri, we stop at Soon Lee hypermarket and Supa Save, Seria to shop.

Offshore at Kuala Belait, Brunei

Leaving Miri town at 5:45am and arrive the Sgi. Tujuh Immigration check point and need to queue up for 15 minutes. Arrive at the check point 7:10am and we went for breakfast at Kuala Belait town. We leave the check point at 8:00am and arrive the platform at 8:50pm. Using the crew boat to bring us to the platform.

Get the work permit and starting work at 9:10am until 11:30am. Have lunch at 12:10pm and we bound to leave the platform at 1:30pm. The crew boat delay and we check out around 2:00pm and leaving the platform at 2:30pm. Arrive at the Kuala Belait Check point 3:00pm and arrive miri town at 3:30pm.

First time Offshore

Today i went to Kuala Belait, Brunei. I'll be going to AMPA-9, one of jacket platform installation at Brunei Water. It is my first time working offshore Oil and Gas. It was quick nice experience, cause i can see with my bear eye how the offshore life look like. We departure from Kuala Belait drop off jetty around 10:15am and arrive at the Oil platforms around 11:00am using workboat.

The weather is clear and no big wave. So the journey was smooth. We stay at the oil platforms until 4:00pm. We can not bring camera, so sorry no photos to show. Maybe next time, we can bring camera with permissions. Then i can take some photos. So, i arrive at Miri 5:45pm.

Go to Kuching, Working

I went to Kuching yesterday on morning flight and came back Miri on evening today. A tired work trip. It's been a year since my last visit to Kuching. And i notice a lot changing happening in Kuching. More and more building. And the traffic became more heavy.

No much time to go around Kuching town because of my tight schedule...

Offshore Basic Safety Training

rI'm just finish my Tropical Basic Offshore Safety induction & Emergency training with HUET EBS including travel safety by boat at MSTS Asia (Miri). The training take 2 and half day to completed (12nd until 14th December 2007). It's a fun training and it mean I'm now can work at oil and gas offshore.
